Badlands (R16)

A great lyrical masterpiece of American film. Writer/director Terence Malick’s first feature stunned the cinema world with its dreamlike evocation of two teenagers embarking on a cross- country killing spree in the 1950s. Despite its fairy tale feel, it is loosely based on fact and made instant stars of Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek The music is a disconcerting blend of Carl Orff, George Tipton and James Taylor.
