Crazy Horse (R16)

This film is by the same director who made the ballet documentary- `La danse`. `Crazy Horse` is a popular nude cabaret club based in Paris which was founded in 1951. This is a very popular tourist spot and the film captures the personalities and the reason for it`s fame. To depict this, he`s filmed rehearsals, back-stage discussions, performances, the work they put behind each performance and the standards required by the dancers who are usually recruited from ballet conservatories. While Wiseman was filming it, acclaimed choreographer, Philippe Decoufle`s tenure coincided with the making of the film. He not only transformed the show but also managed to balance the aesthetics with the shareholder`s interests too.
