The Making of Mr Pip (G)

Director, screenwriter and producer, Andrew Adamson (`Shrek`, `The Chronicles of Narnia`) has prepared an exclusive 10 minute film package for the event from the soon-to-be-released Mr Pip starring Hugh Laurie. An exclusive 10 minute film has been packaged from the to-be released film `Mr Pip` which stars Hugh Larie. Mister Pip is a book by Lloyd Jones, it is the story of Matilda who lives in the war struck island of Bouganville. All their teachers flee except Mr. Watts who daily reads Charles Dickens `Great Expectations` to the children. Thirteen-year old Matilda and her peers are inspired and glued by the tales of Dicken`s Pip, an orphan in England. As Mr. Watts says, `A person entranced by a book simply forgets to breathe.` It is this character that motivates Matilda to carry on even after her world begins falling apart. Robin Scholes, the Producer of `Mr Pip` and LLOYD JONES, the author of `Mister Pip` will join Andrew Adamson in a discussion about adapting the book to the film moderated by playwright Ken Duncum. This discussion is a fund raiser held by the Boungainville Library Trust in order to build a community library in Bougainville.
