Winter School Holiday Sessions (C58)

Wondering what to do this school holidays? Stardome can entertain you rain or shine with a fun and educational astronomy show. For winter the theme is `Aliens` where we’ll be asking the question: Is there life on other planets? The fitting feature planetarium show is ‘BIG’ where a similar question is asked: How big is the Universe? Narrated by Sir Richard Attenborough, `BIG` is one of our most popular shows. `BIG` tackles this question by taking us on an immersive journey to the farthest reaches of the Universe. Along the way we learn about the speed of light, and see all kinds of impressive celestial objects. Clay-mation is combined with computer animation and powerful surround sound in this modern, light hearted story that brings a big story down to Earth. After the show, our education team will take you on a guided tour of the night sky in the planetarium and look at conditions for life on other planets. Children and adults will then get creative with educational arts and crafts activities making our own aliens, and face painting.
